Non Residents Tax

Who should pay it?
It is a tax only applicable to non residents and is known as the wealth tax.

What is the tax based on?
The tax is calculated based on the value of your property.

When will I be asked to pay this tax?
No-one will ask you to pay this tax, the onus is on you to self declare. The declarations are always made in arrears and payable by 30th June of the following declared year.

What will happen if I do not pay?
Possibly nothing however there may be a potential problem when you come to sell the property. You are not currently asked at the point of sale to present receipts but it could prevent a problem should there be cause for a reclamation of tax retention for capital gains.
